So...  I'm about to start / have accidentally already started the 21 day home organization challenge from Bowl full of Lemons.

http://abowlfulloflemons.blogspot.com/p/21-day-challenge.html

So far I have done the Tupperware drawer (after my mom gave me all new plastic containers for Christmas) and the Under the Kitchen Sink clean out after our taps blew up last night.  Since, I am two projects in, I thought I might as well do the rest.

Anyone want to join me?

That's a great list of organization challenges to take on. If I wasn't already in hardcore nesting mode I would totally join in. We've been moving from room to room each weekend and getting rid of stuff, organizing, and picking out baby things.

That sounds even tougher than the sugar free challenge. LOL

Actually, our house is so small I don't have a ton of trouble but I see a few biggies on there: photos (I still have our wedding photos in a pileEmbarrassed), freezer, and master closet- just the thought of dealing with that stuff gives me anxiety!

I've actually done quite a few of those just in the last couple of weeks Embarrassed. Delayed nesting maybe?? I'm in total purge mode! But I like the step by step for each one. I get overwhelmed easily so that would be good for me. I'll have to do a few of the ones I haven't gotten to yet.

I like the idea, but I think I'd need a lot more than 21 days for the projects listed. My slacker self wishes there were some easier ones mixed in there. Embarrassed I'd love to see the pics of what you accomplish though!

The computer desk in in progress at my house.  There is no way I could do them in order.  The junk drawer is one of the scary ones around here.

That's a beautiful clean up Erin!

Right now my house is de-cluttered but the closets are not as neat as I would like them to be. That's due to the fact that we still did not buy furniture. So as soon as we finalize that I will need to do a major move around of stuff.
I don't see how I can follow all those 21 cuz my list ain't that long but I think that by reading that blog I was inspired to get moving on the little things.. Like getting all the papers organized. I'm getting a head ache just by thinking about it, whew!
Off to take a before picture.
Happy wife to J and SAHM to my 2 little girls with a big surprise coming in the Spring.

Interesting!  I dunno if I want in... can I do a whole week on "office"?  LOL.  I joke that this is the room that we "throw everything in and shut the door".

This list actually makes me feel pretty good - all the ones I crossed off are things that I already keep meticulously organized. Thumbs Up  The other ones though.... junk drawer, office, medicines, under my bathroom cabinets.... I think those would make up for any extra days!!!!  I know I have medicines and toiletries that I have been carting around for over 5 years. Embarrassed  And I left "mail" in there because that to me means bill filing... and I have 2 huge stacks to get caught up on, yet again!

Quick logistical question.... what is one to do with one's hurricanes children while spending an entire day swamping out?  Or 21 days in a row???

I am NOT doing 21 days in a row... I'm just generally going to try to do a couple a week until I get to the end.

Erin, it looks great!!

Yeah, mine won't get done in 21 days, but I will chip away at the list. It is actually very helpful! We are looking to move in a few months, so all these projects needs to get done anyway. I started with the kitchen sink because I knew it wasn't too bad under there, but the cabinet was DIRTY I took pics, but they are pretty lame because it didn't capture the mess.

Erin - thanks for sharing the picture of your desk. It is a beautiful - seeing that pretty desk should be incentive to keep it clean (although I am challenged at keeping clutter down!)

LOL  Well I don't know if I really want to brag about them!  I consider them very organized, but I don't have all those fancy baskets and printed labels. Embarrassed  If you asked my husband to find things in those places, he probably wouldn't know where to start, but to me everything is organized very specifically and I never have to hunt. Thumbs Up

That's me too. DH wants me to label everything, but that would take a lot of tape... and effort! LOL Usually I can tell him where something is, especially since I've done a pretty good clean out of most of our storage drawers and cabinets. Now the basement is a totally different story. Everything I have purged from upstairs is piling up downstairs and it's getting pretty bad. We're waiting for a weekend when my parents can come down and keep the kids for hours at a time so we can tackle it together. I can't move some of the stuff, and DH doesn't know what goes and what stays.

I have the kitchen pantry next.  The before pic is up on my blog already.  I need some suggestions. I don't really keep too much on hand and I'm trying to use up and not replace my canned goods in favor of home made or jarred stuff.  In the mean time, how do people store 1/2 box of manicotti?  My pasta shapes change almost monthly (with whatever is on sale), so storage bins for that seems impractical.

Any pantry idea?
