We can't have chickens where we live right now but I still keep dreaming we will have them someday. Anyway, I came across this brooding cabinet and had to share. Not sure how expensive it would be but I just thought it was so darn cute.

I was trying to figure out how "cute" and "brooding cabinet" went together, but I understand now! That's really neat!

I was thinking this too! I might really like it to replace my current cookbook cabinet. It would make a cute gardening station with tools, pots, etc on my patio too ....... but reality is it probably wouldn't get much use there only in my dream world of having time for such things

So cute! but yeah, chickens in the house is not a great idea. Of course, if you only had 3 or so like they have in there it wouldn't be too bad maybe.

Jess I don't mind it either, but we only have a dozen. If I had double that, it might be a different story ;)

We probably would never have more than few chickens so I don't think I would mind having them in the house.

I've never had more than a dozen at a time but it might be different if we had more. This batch will be a true test of whether i like them inside or not. I know with 17 chicks that extra 5 is going to give a bit extra smell. But the one's i'm most concerned with are the ducklings-i've heard from a lot of people they stink worse than chickens.

Let me tell ya, 26 chicks in the house for 9 weeks is NOT pretty. lol. They were in our yucky basement, not in the kitchen, but still. It's not the stink...it's the dust!
