I am not sure, I did go see her, maybe other people did too? it was amazing, a very small venue (probably wont get that chance again since she's so popular now!).

I remember someone posting about seeing her and at the time I didn't really know who she was - but since then I've fallen in love with her music.  I bet that was an amazing show!

Yeah, I was not surprised that she cleaned house. I like her, and I was glad to see someone be so appreciative of the honor. Part of me does like to see the love get spread around a little though. At first, when she started her performance, I was a little let down. Then I liked that it was just simple. Some people put on such a show...*cough* Nicki Minaj *cough* ...that the music gets lost. That is probably the goal though. Adele has real talent. No need for distraction.

Did anyone else think it was weird when she said thanks to all the pop stations playing her stuff even though it's not pop music? DH and I both worked in the music industry for years. We agree that it is pop. Maybe it is a british difference of thought.

Well she considers herself hearbreak soul according to my cd.  I think we have more crossover here in America maybe and consider more things pop.  But it isn't poppy pop if that makes sense.

I am glad she won.  I think she earned them since so many people love her songs.  Dh bought me her live concert cd for a late Christmas gift and my kids like to listen to it too.  Dd really likes "rumor has it"
Mom to DS1 1/06, DD1 3/08, DS2 10/10, and DD2 7/13 I need some kids to test a few pattern sizes on and also willing to trade for sewing jobs. PM me if interested.

i like every song I have heard from her, though I definitely have favorites. i agree that shes totally not pop, but i guess it's the best category for her and they play her on a wide variety of stations here.

totally, Holly! Katy Perry does it for me, i couldn't stand her performance at the grammys i thought it was an obnoxious show, and i don't think that she has much singing talent. i do think is usually a decent entertainer, and she has some catchy songs. dh did the lighting at her show and said that it was a very disappointing show, he was expecting a lot more.

I know what you mean about poppy pop. I would agree, it is probably more on par with hot ac (hip adult contemporary) for our genres. No matter where you put her, she's got great talent!

I do like Katy Perry. I think part of it for me is that I think she is utterly gorgeous. I don't mind an edgy look, but I hate when she does stuff like blue hair. She has such an amazing classic beauty, truly a pin up style. I wish she would stick to it. She's emphasized it with certain looks, and I think it really works for her. I have no idea what she looks like without makeup, but she is drop dead, timeless beauty with it on.
