I think it's time to wash our RB longies. I haven't done it yet...

So, please share your wash routine with me! If I wash them in the sink like I do the soakers, I think it will take a year for them to dry!!

TIA!!

You can always hand-wash, then put them in the washer for the spin-only.  I have a wool cycle, so I use that for all my woolies.  I use Kookaburra woolwash.  It has directions for machine washing, so I figure it can't be too lanolin-rich to use on occasion.

I always handwash. I don't trust my washer.

I wash mine in my FLer on the warm/warm handwash cycle in ecover delicate wash (or something like that).  I lay them flat to dry on a towel on the floor under a ceiling fan and they usually dry overnight.  I then dry-lanolize in the wetzone only.  HTH!

Can I use wool wash in my HE TLer do you think? I washed the stinky pair in the sink with wool wash this morning, but they are still pretty wet. I think I'll try the washer with the others. How do you dry lanolize? Just rub lanolin between your palms and then pat the wetzone? I got some spray lanolin, can I just run them through the washer to rinse them out and then spray the wetzone?

Sorry for so many questions!! Thanks so much for the help mamas!

I think the big thing is to not agitate them too much, so if you have a very gentle gentle cycle, I'd guess you'd be okay.  Otherwise, do what Christine said and wash in the sink and spin dry in the washer.

Yes, with the solid lanolin you do just what you said.  I made kind of a mess the first couple times, but then got the hang of how much I needed to use.  I think with the spray, you also want to do it after the longies dry (but I haven't used ours yet).

My washer actually doesn't have an agitator so I think if I run them through a delicate cycle, they'd be fine...hopefully. I'm going to cry if I ruin them.

Well now I'm scared!  I wouldn't want you to take my advice and ruin them!  All I know is it works for me in my FLer.

I use a spray and always put it on the wet woolies.  IDK if it makes a difference though.

I just wash mine like my knits-- by hand in the sink with wool wash. I actually found it to be more work to machine wash them, because then I had to do an extra step to lanolize (the spray wasn't enough for my kiddo; I just use my spray as a little extra boost between washings now). Mine usually dry overnight, but I don't live in a humid climate. Let us know how it works out with your washer!

I either wash by hand or toss them in the washer with cool water and delicate wash, no rinse. Then repeat without soap to rinse.  I lay them on my drying rack to dry.  HTH

Thanks. The ones I handwashed did dry in about a day, but it was nice out and I had them on my screened porch. They feel and smell like they need some lanolin, so I'm going to try the spray and see how that works.

I have to wash diapers today and all my wool could really use a rinsing at least, so I think I'm going to just run them through a cool rinse cycle in my washer. I'm sure they'll be fine. I accidentally washed one of my soakers with my diapers once (and I used a little bleach)! This shouldn't be a problem!
