I'm here. I was just putting away all the laundry I washed and folded over the past couple of days. I'm finally pretty caught up!

Now that DH is wearing more dry clean stuff, the laundry doesn't pile up quite like it used to. He used to wear jeans and a t shirt everyday, so like 3 days of his laundry was more than a load on its own.

I hate when companies offer free shipping via USPS to the USA and then charge for Alaska b/c we're "different". It costs the same amount weather I'm in Alaska or Nebraska, stupidheads!

DH was gonna bring home dinner as a special treat tonight since I was having a crummy day, but I texted him at 7:30 to see if he could hurry because Tryne desperately needed to go to bed (he was supposed to be here at 8, but every minute sooner would have helped). He texted back to say that he couldn't come home until 9, so I ended up having to feed the kids after all. But I'm lazy so we just had sandwiches  (which made Tryne happy because she *loves* sandwiches).  And now I'm kinda glad we didn't waste the money on restaurant food.

Even better is the no shipping to Alaska at all. Getting a USB cord for the camera should not be this hard.

Yes that is crummy, Sam! I can understand a person who doesn't ship a lot of things not realizing that Alaska costs the same as anywhere else... but a company? C'mon. They should know better. Shame on them!

Sam, have you looked into Amazon Prime? We have it and it's like $70 a year, but all the stuff you order that qualifies (almost anything sold directly by Amazon, including a bunch of stuff you wouldn't expect) ships 2-day for free and overnight for $3.99. Plus there's no tax unless you're in Oregon. Even when something costs the same as it does locally, I'll order it because there's no tax and it's just easier. That might explain why our dog hates the UPS man - when A was first born, I ordered TONS of stuff we needed through Amazon and the UPS guy made almost-daily visits!

That's kinda my opinion and while I know every cart system is different on mine you have to make the effort to exclude certain states when you select USA as a default for anything, so they are going out of their ay to look dumb too.

Hi ladies.  Oy.  Went to visit the babysitter today, and nearly left in tears.  She seems nice enough, but maybe kind of a flake...but her 4 year old...eeek!  I think maybe both of her kids may be delayed, which would be FINE.  Except that the four year old was SO rough!!!  To get my attention he patted under my chin.  VERY hard.  And then he whacked Greg over the head with a plastic baton like thing.  Then he grabbed Calvin under the chin from behind and pulled.  Then he found a rubber snake and chased Maisie with it.  Then started swinging it around.  He hit her with it, and she cried, came and jumped in my lap and curled up in a ball.  She has NEVER done that before.  Then the 4 year old went up to Calvin and stuck his hand in his mouth and pulled out a checker!

Forget it.

I called the lady I'd called before who never returned my phone call--she was like, Karyn!  I'm so glad you called back!  I meant to call you, but I couldn't find your number.....anyway.  I've known her since we were very very small, and my good friend here is leaving her baby with her in January.  She is kinda full-but since my kids need to go there at 3, and she has another infant leaving at 3, she is taking us on a trial basis.  She wants to make sure she isn't overwhelmed, which I totally understand.  I hope she feels ok with it!  We are going over tomorrow morning so Maisie and Calvin can meet her, and Greg can.

HOPE!!!

Xandi--I fed Maisie mac and cheese for dinner tonight and Greg and I are going to have smoked salmon and cream cheese on crackers with wine.  Good grief.  I win for loser dinner.

I win for loser dinner: We're having McDonalds :)

Karyn - that sounds terrible! I'm so sorry that babysitter is such a wreck - she shouldn't watch kids if she can't control her own!

Oh, no. Our friends just had to put down their dog. He was a big dog - Newfoundland and St. Bernard, at best guess. He was 13, which I guess is a good age for a dog that big. I'm so sad.

now that i've admitted my poo-scheme, i'm feeling guilty enough that i think i'm actually gonna change it. that way i'll feel less guilty leaving billy to get mos ready for bed while i run my errand.

give your friends my condolences and tell them they are in my thoughts.  but thirteen is a FABULOUS age for a giant breed dog!   they gave him a long and happy life, and now he is playing at the rainbow bridge and watching over his humans.
