Samie asked about the difference in fit between the Mother-ease Sandy's and the OS, so I thought I'd post some pics to compare since we have both. DS weighs about 17 lbs. and is 7 months old. He is 50th percentile for weight & height. The Sandy's is a size small (should fit 8lbs.-20 lbs.) and he is on the last snaps but still has a little room to grow.
Sandy's front:

Did you use any MEOS right at birth? I have 6 and was planning on waiting to use them, but I'm curious if you tried them. The DSs were both over 8lbs, so I'm expecting a fairly large nb.

No, I've only had them for a few months, after we started having issues with serging. I'm curious about that too, for next time so I hope you try them and let us know how they work! I think they might be too bulky between the legs at first.

Thanks for posting Erin! How do they compare absorbancy wise? I sold the MEOS I had because it wasn't absorbant enough for my heavy wetting DS, but we didn't have the liner. In fact I didn't know they were supposed to have liners. I bought the one I had off FSOT when I first got into fitteds and was looking for anything OS and cheap.

It's been awhile since DS has actually worn the Sandy's but I think they are similar. We do use the liner always. At night I stick a hemp doubler under the liner and it's good for over 12 hours under fleece or PUL.

I'd agree w/ Erin. According to the ME site, the OS w/ snap-in has a bit more absorbency than the Sandy's, but the Sandy's by itself is more absorbent than the MEOS by itself. I'm experimenting w/ a OS at night w/ a flat instead of the snap-in because the OS is thinner, and I hope will rinse up cleaner.

just to chime in...i will try to post pics later...i have a walking 25 lb 1 yr old and we use the MEOS all the time and he isnt on the last setting. for naps and night time i use sandy's, at night with 2 liners (ME stay dry usually). on the sandy's and the MEAF covers, we are not on the last settings of the large ones. we love the ME dipes!! no leaks yet, except i got wet today when i picked him up without a cover and held him whilst i was cleaning up around the house. oops! its been one of those days for this mama and son!!

What a cute, busy little man!
Thanks for sharing. I've been thinking about trying an ME at night with all the folks who use them successfully. Seeing some pictures is great. |

Love the pics - you little guy is getting big!
I wasn't a fan of MEOS when I tried them, but I didn't give them much effort
but I love my Sandy's. They fit so loose and look really comfortable, but never a leak! |

I have used MEOS on dd2, dd3 and ds. Never used Sandy's. The MEOS did not fit well on a NB, mostly because of the legs. If you happen to get a chunky-thighed NB, they might work OK. Depends more on the weight distribution than the weight itself. Once they get to about 10 lbs at 1 or 2 months, the fit gets much better. I like them alot!

Good info gps, thanks!
Now after putting on the Sandy's again I forgot how much I like them! I am tempted to try them again and see if the serging bothers DS now that we have his eczema under control a little better.

That's a great idea. Since I think the fit is very different on a toddler, I put out a Sandy's (I'm going to sell those, since I don't like the fit anymore) and shoot pictures, too.
Sorry the MEOS got very bright, since I had to use the flash, hope you can see anything.
I had Sandy's in my beginner stash and loved them. When they got too small I bought L Sandy's, but for a moving baby, they seem not so comfortable - and they are not nightworthy for my DS.

Thanks Mucki! It's great to see those on an older baby. I hope to get many more months out of our MEOS- a great investment! Looks very comfy and very, very cute on your DS!

Those are adorable pics, Mucki
! I have to say though, the Sandy's fit my older guys way better than the MEOS. They are comfy and baggy on them, and I think they let "the boys" breathe better, especially as they start wearing pants. I like the MEOS right now for nights though because they are thinner and it's easier to rinse that nasty toddler pee out.

My DD is around 15 lbs and fits in both the small and large sandys. I just thought I'd put that out there in case people wanted to know about fit ranges. We started with the small sandies at about 10 weeks, and she's now 9 months. We also used the same large Sandies on my older daughter until she potty trained at 22 months.
