Back from lunch with my mom and we did a little window shopping too :)  I got a little hair clip to wear for the wedding I'm in in a couple weeks.  It was fun having a little girl time with my mom, I miss hanging out with her.

Christine - we just fixed those parts in one of our toilets and it's pretty easy.  This is the first time Z's bday has been on Tgiving and it's so fitting b/c I can't think of a better thing to be thankful for than him Heart

We had "the guy" come out and look at our well b/c our faucets have been sputtering on and off for a couple weeks.  $200 later and he confirmed that there's air in our pipes but doesn't know why.  Gee, thanks dude.

Chicken noodle soup is simmering, bread is almost done baking. Yum!  The house smells really nice.
Poor DH came home from work not feeling well. He started to feel kinda yucky last night. Now he has a fever. It sounds like it is probably a cold, but with H1N1 just being diagnosed 2 towns over everyone is in a panic. There are suspected cases in the kids' school district, but not their school. The schools do share some staff though so who knows. We are supposed to have parent/teacher conferences tomorrow. DH probably won't be able to go, but do I go? Do I keep the kids home from school even if they do not have symptoms?

Carrie: I'm pretty laid back when it comes to illness, so I'd probably just send my kids to school as usual. We never do flu shots here, but I'm not super worried about what will happen if the kids get something. Like I told Sierra the other day, after she asked if they were going to get a flu shot, and that she heard that some kids died from the flu: "If God wants you in Heaven, he'll find a way to get you there. It could be the flu, or it could be getting hit by a bus. When it's your time to go, it's your time."

I think the flu is contagious before you get sick.  Hope DH is just down w/ a run-of-the-mill cold.  Perfect timing on the chicken soup.  I've got beef stew/soup in the crock pot and it smells good too.  Maybe I'll get G to make biscuits w/ me when he wakes up.  It's one of DH's fav. meals, and I find it a very good strategy to feed him well if I know I have something to get off my chest.

Christina, sorry to hear about "the guy".  Thanks for letting me know that I can prob. fix the toilet myself.  Maybe another 7layer burrito from Taco Bell and a little chocolate will get me motivated.  The house is quiet, so I need to get the lump of stress reduced a bit first.  Glad you had a nice time w/ your Mom!

Well, apparently Tyner did not have a good day at school. In fact, I had to pick him up an hour early. I guess he hit some kid so hard on the back that a teacher heard it. And he was throwing pens, and scribbling all over his work. Probably doesn't help that he was up at 6:15 this morning. So he is stuck in his room, no TV, no Wii, no candy/dessert (and you better believe his sister will be bowling with me tonight, and getting candy).

Thanks.  We're adjusting to being around each other again, and I know it's the perfect storm for fights and mis-communications.  For two months he left before any of us woke up in the morning, got home for dinner, sat on the recliner and "bonded" w/ the boys over Signing Time, then fell asleep as soon as we put them to bed.  He worked many weekend mornings, napped when the boys did, then worked from home in the evenings.  I'm not complaining, because he's a great dad and does his best for all of us.  It makes me very grateful for the times that his schedule is normal and we have him back Heart.  Times like these put our relationship in a holding pattern though.

Whoooo-ah!  I fixed the toilet!  It was a little more complicated than I thought it would be, but doable w/ a quiet house.  I think we saved probably at least $40, maybe more.  Thanks Dad for teaching your daughter how to be handy Big%20smile.

good job christine!

we had the same problem for while, it made our water bill ridiculous, but our landlord wouldn't listen when we told her there was a leak somewhere.  it took a while to actually catch the toilets running...

Back from Emerald...we went out a bit before sundown and the girls picked flowers. Gabriel ended up eating some grass (moo!), but in general we just had a good, relaxing time.

I'm just on real quick while DH is gone to his parents house to get some chili powder...

Tyner said he was mad, 'cause some boys wouldn't play with him and were being mean to him. Except that the boy he hit didn't have anything to do with what made him mad. I think he was just really tired and cranky. He was totally fine when he got home. Even sat down and did his homework with me with no problems.

yes, the flu is like that-- viruses are.  the way they infect is different, they replicate a while before you notice symptoms.
