![]() Topic: How To Make Your Own Diaper SprayerPosted: 07 Jan 2008 at 3:16pm |
|
I've noticed a lot of sprayer talk these days so...
Here is how I made my own diaper sprayer: honestly what i did was walk in to home depot (a home improvement store if you don't have home depots in your state) and tell the guy in plumbing that i wanted something that hooked up to the "thingie" that connected the toilet and the wall that i could put a sink sprayer on. he took about 5 minutes to find all the pieces and sent me on my merry way! i got : 1-sink sprayer 2-bolt looking things (1 of each size) 1 hooks up to the sprayer and 1 to the thingie that connects the toilet to the wall. then those 2 bolts hook up to each other... ok, so i know i'm using some very technical terms here. i will ask my hubby to explain when he comes home and post the right words!!! LOL here are some pictures that might help... printing these off and bringing them to your "guy" might be very helpful!

so you have to turn the black lever every time you use the sprayer? Or is there a button the sprayer?

it's just like the sprayer you use on a kitchen sink... there is no lever on the one i made, i should have mentioned that (sorry!)... i just press the button on the sprayer and she sprays away!

the store bought sprayers do have this lever and then you also hold down the handle on the sprayer. the lever is there so that when it's not in use, it doesn't leak everywhere.

So are the pictures posted in this thread of a store bought sprayer or the one stacystar made?

The site that you looked at for the basics also tells how to measure what size bolts you need:

I would be very careful to turn it off after every use. A kitchen sprayer is not designed to have constant pressure.
Looks good |

I have had this type of sprayer for a few months now...I never had a leak....my kit didn't come with a lever....I can't hang mine anywhere for now...I just put the sprayer in an empty yogurt container that is sitting behind the toilet and it collects any drops of water that may leak...but no real leaks really
I love it !

Wish I had seen this before I bought my leaky sprayer. My sprayer also said to make sure you turn it off when not in use, that it was not designed for constant pressure as well.
