We converted our entire stash to Softbums last August and we've been happy with the decision. The Softbums require less prep work than pockets since you don't have to stuff them. I prefer them to the other OS diapers I tried because they have adjustable legs and no front rise snaps to show through clothing. After 7 months of use, the diapers still look almost new.

I love these diapers! I have both the bamboo and microfiber inserts. The bamboo is awesome for naps, and with the doubler great for overnights. The microfiber is awesome when I need a diaper to fit under blue jeans. I love the ""snuggers"" and how perfect of a fit I can get with these. My favorite is that there is no PUL touching baby thanks to the fleece lining. ~LeAnn, owner of Giggle Britches

I purchased a stash of Soft Bums and a few Smartipants before my son was born. Luckily, Soft Bums have worked great ever since my son's umbilical cord fell off. The adjustable legs are perfect since he has thin thighs, they are super trim, easy to use, very cute, and economical since they are one size. I purchased both the bamboo velour and microfiber inserts and prefer the microfiber. I haven't seen a difference in performance but the microfiber is much lighter and dries quicker while doing laundry. I also initially thought that the bamboo would be more environmentally friendly but the manufacturing process probably isn't. Overall, I'm very happy with my stash of Soft Bums.

LOVE these and my babysitter does too. They are the ONLY diaper that do not leave red marks on my skinny baby's big thighs. The toggle adjustment is perfect and I can't get over how well they are wearing. I bought Gro Baby at the same time and they are curling at the edges and getting pilly while my SoftBums are still soft and look as good as new. My absolute favorite thing about these diapers is how trim they are. We have used many other diapers in the past and you get used to the puffy-butt and the large pants size required because of it. With my daughter, pants last longer and look better in these diapers. Both my kids are heavy wetters and I don't use these at night, but as day time diapers, these are my gold standard. They never leak, they look great, and they are easy to use.

This is the best one-size diaper you could find, in my opinion. I think the toggle sizing is the most ingenious idea and no other one-size system comes close to the ease and fit. It doesn't leave red marks on the legs of my chunky thighed baby, and the absorbency is very good. I like how all of the components of this diaper are very soft. I tried the Gro Baby system, and although the shells dry faster, we got red marks and I never felt like it was comfortable on her.
I want to purchase some more shells and try out the bamboo velour soakers because I've heard they are great.
I only gave this diaper a 4 because I don't reach for it like I do with my AIOs, and the long soaker snap-in, plus folding it over confuses my husband and relatives so it gets put on wrong, or doesn't get used as much as I'd like when I'm not doing it myself. I would love for Softbums to come up with a disposable insert like Gro Baby has, because I could see myself using this system exclusively if that existed.

I am new to cding and have made a few mistakes (bg os, hh os, fb perfect size, thirsties aio) but I have finally found the best diaper ever!! You will not believe it until you see one in person how large and how small these diapers get. Really amazing! And I love the way they adjust, really perfect. I love that you reuse the cover so I am doing less laundry. And the inserts are big and really absorbent and yet not bulky. They are SO amazing. I upgraded to the bamboo velour inserts and they feel amazing, and I have heard that last longer too.

I absolutely LOVE my softbums! I'm new to cloth and have two in diapers, a 21 month old and a 11 week old. I wanted a diaper that could easily be used for both my little ones and this one does the trick! I tried two different pockets before getting these and didn't really like them. The snap in insert is so much easier than stuffing, I can even do it one handed if I have to! I was a little nervous about night time diapering but the first night I used these and no leaks! Even with my 11 week old who sleeps around 10 hours a night! I would definitely recommend upgrading to the bamboo inserts though, they are much more absorbent. The only times we have had leaks was when using the regular microfiber inserts. Sarah is very nice and I am very happy to support her company. I would highly recommend going and getting some softbums!

I have been VERY pleased with this product. I became a CD momma just a few short months ago, and my initial stash consisted of 8 different brands. After using those 8 diapers for over a month, I made a decision about which ones I preferred and which I didn't. Softbums is the only aplix diaper I have in my stash, and the only one I intend to use. The leg toggles are wonderful, although it is a little annoying having to stuff the elastic back inside the hidden pocket where they are contained. the snap-ins are fabulously soft, and remain that way wash after wash. The diaper is super trim and I have had my baby in one for up to 4 hours leak free (although an unnoticed poo does seem to cause the diaper to leak at the legs). I have had occasional leaks, but I chalk them up to my inexperience as well as sometimes leaving the diaper on longer than is advisable. My experience has shown that a CD needs to be changed within 3 hours to prevent leaks. If you miss that timeframe, you run the risk of a leak in just about any cloth diaper. If you factor in the price of the snap-in soaker, these diapers are a bit on the expensive side, but I deem them worth their price. Since embarking on my CD experience, I have decided to have a little of everything in my stash (AI2, AIO, and pockets). These and bottombumpers are the AI2 I like best and will continue to use. I feel confident you won't be disappointed!

I posted a review earlier, before having used these diapers. I've now used them for 3 months, and am very pleased with them. The fit is wonderfully adjustable, the diapers look cute, and wash well, and my daughter seems comfortable in them. I bought the complete package, plus some doublers, and I think that I would have been better served with fewer inserts and more covers. But that is just me, because I wash diapers every other day, and sometimes every day, so I don't need as many inserts. Plus I like her covers to match her outfits!
Sarah is also wonderfully helpful and knowledgable.

I have tried many cloth diapers over the course of three years and these are by far my favorite! Great price for a one size diaper, plus the cover is reusable. No need to change the whole diaper after each wetting! Great way to save money. They work great at night and I have had no problems with leaks or red marks! These diaper provide a great fit and are made by a mom in Minnesota. You need to check these out if you're in the market for a one size diaper!

I really loved the fit of this diaper and was hoping this would become our full-time diaper. Unfortunately, we have just had too many leaks. I guess my baby is just too heavy of a wetter for this diaper. We tried both the microfiber and hemp inserts, but near the 2 hour mark it would start leaking on us and we'd have to do a total outfit change. Sarah gave wonderful customer service, the quality of the diaper is great, and the fit is the trimmest I have found, but unfortunately it isn't for us.

I have been using Softbums for about a month now, and am glad to have finally found a diaper that fits my sons chunky thighs and long rise at the same time. I love that I can just snap in a new liner as long as the shell does not get soiled.
The quality is well worth the price- and I especially love that I am supporting a WAHM right here in the USA!
I just received my first diaper with snaps- and can say I love them even more than the velcro- don't get me wrong- the velcro is great too- I never had a problem with ""diaper snake"" and the tabs were just the right size that the edges did not rub on my son's thighs or belly (we had this problem with a very well known OS pocket dipe).
The snap version is very adjustible, snaps all across the wings, and 2 on each tab, plus a crossover snap.
Overall, this is an excellant diaper- a ""set"" while seems expensive, includes 3 inserts, so it is really like having 3 diapers- though I recommend getting 2 shells to begin with, so you can rotate them out. I have found 6-8 to really be a goodnumber- gives me plenty to rotate through and only wash every 2nd day or so, plushave one to keep in the diaper bag, so I can just grab and go.
The toggles inside the dipe adjust the legs and rise at the same time, and works perfectly.

Best traits:
Totally custom fit in a one-size diaper!
Great value due to re-use of covers until poopy
Fits under snug clothes
Easy to use for daycare, dads n grandma, etc
Cute! Love the color options and overall look, get lots of admiring comments
Easy to wash, no special treatment for covers
Quality velcro stays closed in the wash
No stuffing, just snap in an insert
Great poo containment, never had a blow out, even w/liquidy poo
Not as great:
limited availability of their best soaker insert, the hemp one
Fleece-top inserts get pilly after awhile
Bamboo inserts/soakers shrink and should be stretched out periodically
You can read all about the features in-depth here:
http://www.softbums.com/pages/ProductInfo.php
I have seen some complaints of leaks for those who don't like the small size of the soaker, but this is part of what keeps the diaper trim. I have successfully used the covers with a full-on prefold, so you can use a more absorbant material if you have leak problems. With the completely adjustable elastic legs, I don't see how it could be a fit issue. Personally I just use another insert such as Loopy-Dos if I think it will be awhile before I can change her.
There is also a pocket version of the cover available.
The cost per change ranges from about $11 - $16 depending on whether you buy a bulk package. Great value for a premium one-size solution 8-)
So overall, there is room for improvement in the absorbant part of the diaper, but the covers are fantastic!!

I love this diaper...has to be the trimmest diaper we own. We can actually put jeans on over top of it! I really love how many diaper changes we can fit into our diaper bag now. We're usually out all day on the weekends and I have to lug around a diaper bag plus an additional bag of just diapers. Now I can fit at least five diaper changes in our one bag because you just need an extra shell plus the inserts. The only thing I regret is not spending the extra money on the bamboo inserts. I purchased the microfiber (which does the job) but I would have loved to have the extra absorbancy.

SoftBums PerfectFit AI2s are so unique and easy to use. You simply adjust the rise by pulling two tiny toggles ""Snuggers"" that are accessible via a little opening in the front of the cover.
I love how the shell gets SO itty bitty at the smallest. These are definitely a great one size diaper from birth. I think they would even work well on a preemie.
I think this is the trimmest diaper one size diaper we have ever used (out of at least 10 brands). It is definitely right up there for being the trimmest even taking sized diapers into consideration. My 2 year old attends gymnastics and this is usually the diaper I put under her boyshort leotard.
After months of constant use the SoftBums aplix looks BRAND NEW and we never have any issues with the laundry tabs not holding during the wash.

I adore our softbums! They are our favorite diaper system after 8 solid years of cloth diapering! I absolutely love the toggle elastic system, NO ugly one size snaps down the front, LOVE the new front snap design. They are super trim, super absorbent, awesome quality and sewing, and Sarah's customer service is awesome. She made these VERY quickly for us even though she's super busy.

I can't say enough about how much I love these diapers! I upgraded to bamboo for 2 of the 3 inserts--so the $40 is for essentially three diaper changes. Love the fit of the inserts, the diaper is so, so trim--actually fits her better than a wet sposie and we never have to worry about her fitting into her regular pants or jeans. The elastic adjustment with toggles is amazing--no annoying buttons or snaps to deal with! It's so easy going out, too---all we have to do is take along an extra cover (which takes up about the space of a small Kleenix travel pack) and a few inserts. We can fit 3 diaper changes into our 9x9 Leslie's Boutique Grab 'n Go wet bag!
Sarah, the creator, is amazing, too---her customer service is incredible, she strives so hard to make sure you're more than happy with her diapers. I feel like I must drive her crazy with all my questions, but she's always more than polite, friendly, and helpful! The only problem with these diapers is that since they're one size and the covers are reusable, I don't have a very good excuse for needing to own one of every color! LOL!

Having tried so many other diapers these became my favorite the day I first tried them. I sprung for the bamboo inserts for extra absorbency since my son has super sensitive skin, and the inserts were SOOO soft and I feel very comfortable putting them against my little boy's skin. They fit nicely and they are so trim - no need to size up my son's pants to accommodate a bulky cloth diaper!! The best is going out in the diaper bag - I take 3 or 4 inserts and a spare cover just in case, takes up half the room of the AIOs I used to use. I also love knowing that I can use the same diapers when my next one is born and thereby save money, and Sarah's customer service has been beyond fantastic. Love them!!

I have not yet used these diapers but this is my review thus far for them. I will be posting again once i use them on my little one ;)
When I received the package of Softbums I was extremely pleased at the high quality of the diapers and surprised at how truly tiny they are and how big they expand! Not only is the workmanship excellent but so is the design.
I ordered the part-time package which includes 6 shells. 18 inserts and 6 doublers. The cost per diaper is less than mentioned above as each diaper comes with 3 inserts and a doubler....meaning that you can re-use the shells when they are not soiled.
I chose SB because i wanted a ONE-SIZE diaper that fit from day one and one that offered a NATURAL fabric to lay against my LO's bottom. I chose the organic bamboo option.
Sarah, the owner of Softbums is extremely professional and attentive. She holds it her priority to make sure you are satisfied with what you have purchased.
You may also chose to have the shells with snap-closures instead of velcro, but you must write an email to Sarah so she knows that you prefer this option.
The company is small so the shipment of your diapers may take longer than bigger companies.
Note:
When I received my diaper package, there was an error in my order so I had to return the package back to be rectified. Sarah responded to me immediately, reimbursed the S&H and sent me the corrected package right away. She even added snaps on my doublers at no-extra charge!!! Thanks Sarah!!!

These are without a doubt my favorite diapers! They are the only one size diaper that will fit a teeny-tiny newborn. The way to adjust the size is genius! And I've never had a leak with these. They don't have to be prepped like crazy, they never leave red marks, they save you a bundle in comparison to other diapering systems, you can choose your soaker fabrics (so you're not limited to one thing), they are soft, and squishy, they come in cute colors, they aren't bulky, they are super convenient and easy to use...I could go on forever about how great they are! I can't wait to order more! Not only are the diapers great, but so is their creator sarah!

I love my soft bums! I was unsure of what brand to buy when I was considering using CD. I bought several different kinds before my baby was born so that I could feel them all and play with them some first. I instantly fell in love with the soft bums and decided that I wanted those to be the bulk of my CD's. I bought the perfect fit 6-pack which comes with 6 shells, 18 liners and 6 doublers. They are so incredibly soft and so very easy to use. They are truly a one-size diaper and are very easy to adjust. Also, they do not need to be undone and resized with each wash unlike the ones that need to be snapped to make them the correct size. Sarah is very nice and made sure I had my product before my baby arrived. Thanks again Sarah!
I also wanted to add that the $57 dollars is not for just one diaper. That includes one shell, 3 liners and 1 doubler!

I have been using softbums for close to a year and I love them! They are very trim under clothing. They are very absorbent, too. My daughter has been able to go all night, 12 hours, without any leaks. The ai2 system makes them easy for outings. They are truely a one size diaper. They are the only one size diaper that fit my daughter from day one, even when her umbilical cord stump still attached. I love how the leg elastic adjusts so there is never any red marks from too tight elastic or gaps between the diaper and thigh. Overall I am very happy with these diapers.

I haven't used these diapers much but my first impression is a good one. I got the starter package and although it took a little while to get them, I am amazed at how soft and trim they are. If I were to have to choose which fabric to have against my skin out of DS's diaper collection, this would be the one. They are super trim under clothes and since the cover can be reused with the snap in liners they are much easier to take along in the diaper bag. The design makes them a true one size from what I can tell (I will know in May when DS's little sister arrives). The customer service is also really good. Sarah really strives to make her customers happy.

I ordered the Starter package, training pants and other accessories on Sept. 17, 2008. I received my order on Oct. 28, 2008. It took 6 weeks to deliver the order. Two of the accessories were defective. I e-mailed Sarah the very next day about them. She promised to send the replacement then. As of today, Dec. 4, 2008, I am still waiting for the replacement order.
The communication between seller and customer does not exist unless the customer initiates it. I had to e-mailed her first, and wait for reply. Customer service ####s.
As to the quality of the product, we like the the AIO diapers design, but I would not suggest you use it for night time. The soaker is not very absorbing. My daughter has a few accident when wearing them. They leaks sometime.
The super trim training pants has ultratrim soakers in them. That makes the leakage even more often.
Overall, I would not recommend these products.
